Vice President JD Vance urged the Department of Justice to release all documents related to Jeffrey Epstein on Monday, emphasizing the need for complete transparency to ensure justice and accountability. Speaking to reporters, Vance suggested that the unreleased files could reveal connections between Epstein and prominent left-wing politicians and billionaires, a claim that has sparked heated debate.
Vance highlighted that during the Biden administration, the Department of Justice did not prioritize the release of these files, raising questions about whether certain individuals or groups were being shielded. “For four years under Joe Biden’s DOJ, there was little urgency to uncover the truth about Epstein’s network,” Vance stated. “President Trump has been clear: he supports full transparency, and we will work to ensure these files are made public to expose any potential cover-ups.”
The call for transparency comes amid renewed scrutiny of Epstein’s connections to influential figures across political and social spheres. Vance’s remarks follow reports that Democrats have also demanded the release of the files, with some accusing Republicans of obstructing justice. However, Vance countered these claims, noting that the Trump administration is committed to uncovering the truth, regardless of who may be implicated. “President Trump has nothing to hide, and neither should anyone else,” Vance said, dismissing suggestions that the administration is withholding information.
Critics, including Democratic leaders, have pointed to past interactions between Epstein and former President Donald Trump, as well as Trump’s DOJ’s handling of related matters, to question the administration’s commitment to transparency. Vance refuted these allegations, calling them politically motivated attempts to deflect from potential Democratic ties to Epstein. “The American people deserve to know the full extent of Epstein’s network, and we won’t let partisan distractions stand in the way of justice,” he added.
